BILLINGS, MONT., Feb. 8, 2012 – Knife River – Intermountain Region President Dave Turner announced today that Pat Hayden has been selected as the safety resource manager for the region, which encompasses operations in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
“Pat has incredible vision for our safety programs and believes that providing a safe and healthy work environment is the company’s No. 1 priority,” Turner said. “For more than 20 years, he has dedicated his career to providing strong, solid safety programs and truly cares about the well-being of our employees.”
Hayden’s been in a safety role at Knife River for 12 years, coming to the company after Knife River acquired the Billings, Mont., company he worked with. Most recently, he has been the lead safety director for Knife River’s Montana and Wyoming divisions.
“The best part about my job is working with our front-line employees who really make it happen for Knife River,” Hayden said. “We’ve grown so much as a company and our safety programs have grown as well. I want to help everyone in the region and the company do the right thing for safety and go home happy and healthy to their families.”
Hayden is originally from Cortez, Colo., and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in environmental health and safety. He worked in Utah and Arizona with Morrison Knudsen Corporation, which eventually led him to Montana.
Hayden and his family currently call Billings their home.
