Emulsion Distribution and Laydown
Kent's Oil, a Knife River Corporation subsidiary headquartered in Stockton, Calif., provides emulsion laydown services to area paving contractors. Asphalt emulsion is a mixture of asphalt, water and an emulsifying agent that is used to provide a moisture barrier or “seal coat” to asphalt paving, as a binder between old and new layers of asphalt pavement and many other uses. Kent’s manufactures the emulsions at its liquid asphalt terminal in Stockton.
